About Us

The Pool Man of Key West is a fully licensed and insured pool service contractor. The company has been serving the lower Florida Keys since 2004. The company provide weekly pool cleaning and maintenance, pool equipment repairs and installation, leak detection, and pool resurfacing from Key West to Big Pine.

In late 2019, The Pool Man of Key West was purchased by Ben Bortner who believed there was an opportunity to further professionalize the pool service industry in Key West. Ben has made it the company’s mission to be the BEST, most dependable, and professional pool service company in Key West. Ben is a licensed Florida Service Pool/Spa Contractor (CPC1459934).

The Pool Man of Key West believes that attracting, hiring, training, and retaining the best employees is critical to achieving our mission. We also believe that education and training are critical to ensuring that our customers’ swimming pools are safe and healthy.  We require that all of our technicians obtain their Certified Pool & Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certificate. No other pool company in Key West has as many CPO® Certified pool technicians as we do.

We are also a licensed Florida Pool/Spa Contractor, have 2 full-time repair technicians on staff, and carry a large inventory of new and replacement parts. This allows us to repair or replace most pool equipment on a same-day or next business-day basis. Our Operations Manager performs random quality control checks and helps respond to one-off pool issues as they arise.
